60 Degree Weather in NYC in NOVEMBER?!?!?!? WHATTTTT! So of course I had to look the part. But, lets pause for a moment of honesty *** Moving to New York has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. Finding your way in this concrete jungle is certainly a bumpy ride. But I must say, I am learning to “FALL in love…” with every situation in my life. This journey is such a learning experience that is providing me with so much growth. I am forever thankful!
Now on to what inspired this look. When I decided to move here I was intimidated by many things, and the cold weather was definitely on that list. But it has forced me to embrace new things, specifically in my wardrobe. With the exception of black ,white, and sometimes red, I have never been a fan of anyone, no matter their size wearing all of the same color. But When I spotted this, I FELL IN LOVE! This mustard yellow two piece set literally screamed at me from the racks. There are no tags in the inside, and it appears to be custom made. Take a look at the detail in the print.
This look is another addition of “TOTALLY THRIFTED.”
The pants, top, and jacket are all thrifted items. The jacket is very retro and vintage, so i thought it would be a great statement piece to add to this look. I decided to add a black belt at the waist for some separation of color, as well as to compliment the black shoe. Speaking of shoes, these cut out wedges are on my list of favorites. They gave my look a little edge.
In life, sometimes you just have to let yourself go! This Fall for me is all about FALLING IN LOVE, I have fallen in love with my natural hair, I have fallen in love like (lol) with New York City! I have fallen in love with my atmosphere and my career. So this “Fall” I encourage you to let yourself fall, and when you get up you’ll really know where you stand.
