Look who came to NYC! Mickey!!! A visit from an old friend always has its way of making everything better! Michell and I have been friends for years, so when she told me she planned a trip to New York City months ago, I could’t wait to twirl around the city with her.
Much to my surprise and I think a bit of hers too, she would arrive with a special delivery!
So what better timing than now to throw on my styling hat and create a little impromptu “Maternity Chic” photo shoot. Now, I know nothing about being pregnant, but I do know all about having a little extra to style. Ruching can be every girls best friend. Its commonly used in Plus Size Clothing as a sliming technique to accentuate the curves you choose. The curve I wanted to accentuate on Michell was her lovely lady BUMP! This grey middi dress hugged in the right places, ensuring that “baby” was pronounced.
Of course I had to add a little flare to this “Mommy to Be,” so I paired the dress with a black and grey faux fur vest. Stylish, yet comfortable. Although “baby” is making the biggest statement in this look, I accessorized with a statement necklace to highlight the “bump!” Luckily Michell’s feet are still playing nice and she can fit into her shoes. Fringe embellishments are one of fall’s biggest trends, so I finished the look with a pair of fringe knee high boots. Can we say, #MATERNITYCHIC !!!
Friendship is essential to the soul. I am blessed to have friends in my life that I have grown with over the years. WOW I can not believe Mickey is going to be someone’s Mother! I will miss our late night club hopping, random drive by’s and, partying until the sun comes up. But I am beyond proud of the woman you have become, and the wonderful mother you will be!
