cooling in culottes

Culottes are this season’s it pants! They are the perfect trousers to finish off summer and get you to the unpredictable fall weather. September is all about transitioning my wardrobe, and these two pieces blend right in. Matching sets were one of my favorite summer trends, and definitely one that I will carry over to fall. Two things I love about this set, the stripes and the casual, yet structured fit.

My favorite thing about culottes is that you get the flattering structured fit without the hassle of tailoring. Yes, culottes can be a bit tricky to pull off, especially for us plus size girls. But this pair features a bold and pin stripe design that is perfect for glamoflauging! (A fabulous word for camouflaging, courtesy of June Ambrose.) Patterns and stripes are the perfect way to conceal those unfavorable areas we don’t want to highlight. (Mine being my tummy.) You all know I go crazy for a crop top, so I couldn’t pass up on the culottes’ match.

Keeping the casual feel, I finished my look with a chucky heel ankle bootie, and a classic fedora. These two gave my look the finishing fall touch!
