I always talk about how my smile is my favorite curve, and lately I’ve noticed its the least accentuated. Always plump and painted to perfection with a bold shade of lipstick, yet my lips rarely form a semi circle. So I began to ask myself, why is it that I don’t seem to smile as much.? I mean aside for a bad day here & there and a pair of shoes being sold out, I’m generally a happy person!
So, why am I not smiling?
I think sometimes we get so caught up in the happenings of life that we forget to “stop and smell the roses.” Cliche I know but the connotation remains meaningful. Frankly sometimes its hard the smile when the woes of life become overwhelming. This is when I think of those times when a simple smile from a stranger passing by instantly changed my mood. It reminds me of one of my favorite quotes, “Let your smile change the world, don’t let the world change your smile.” I am challenging myself to smile often through out the day, take a second to right down what made me smile, and reflect on that reason often. Even when life seems to be in shambles, I will find a reason to smile.
I encourage you to take the #SmileChallenge with me!
Have you smiled today? 🙂
